District highlights Birth to 3 'All In' program that screened 566 children and distributed 1,600 books

The Board of Education on Dec. 18 heard a showcase of the districtBirth to 3 'All In' program aimed at preparing children for preschool and kindergarten through home-visiting services and early screening.
Birth to 3 Supervisor Katey Baldassano told the board the program completed 566 screenings this school year, using validated screening tools and specialized kits to ensure consistency across home visits. Baldassano said the programhas distributed more than 1,600 books and recorded over 11,000 books read by participating families.
Baldassano said the program focuses on high-quality parent-child interactions and on linking families to Early Intervention services. According to her presentation, about 80–90% of children referred by the program ultimately qualify for Early Intervention; the program shares screening tools and data with Pioneer Preschool to smooth transitions to early childhood programs.
