Granite Falls schedules Sept. 25 workshop on annexations, zoning and mixed-use planning

The City of Granite Falls will hold a land-use workshop on Sept. 25 to review a list of issues, Community Development Director Eric Jensen told the council on Sept. 18.
Jensen outlined topics the council will consider at the workshop, including the Urban Growth Area boundary, potential annexations to the city, zoning for the Mountain Loop Highway subarea, mixed-use land-use approaches, Galena Street zoning, middle-housing options, park-and-ride planning, public-works facilities and the West Granite Falls subarea.
The Sept. 25 workshop will be an opportunity for council and staff to work through zoning and annexation questions ahead of any formal proposals or ordinance actions.
