Jefferson County designates county administrator to sign National Opioid Settlement agreements

At its Sept. 18 meeting the Jefferson County Commission unanimously designated County Administrator Edwina Benites-LM as an authorized signatory for the National Opioid Settlement agreements.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Cochran summarized updates on ongoing opioids litigation and related issues. Following counsel’s report, Commissioner Pasha Majdi moved to designate the County Administrator as a person authorized to sign the National Opioid Settlements agreements; the motion, seconded by Commissioner Steve Stolipher, passed unanimously.
The minutes record the designation but do not provide language of the settlement documents or financial terms. The commission also received counsel’s report on a separate West Virginia Human Rights Commission matter (EDR-194-25); no action was taken on that case at the meeting.
