Commission authorizes participation in regional MARL/Valley Link working groups

Commissioner Cara Keys moved and the commission approved allowing her and/or Commission President Pasha Majdi to attend regional working-group meetings related to proposed MARL/Valley Link lines so Jefferson County can track interconnected impacts as the PSC considers the projects.
Commissioner Cara Keys moved that she and/or Commission President Pasha Majdi be authorized to attend working-group meetings with Hampshire, Monongalia, Preston and Mineral counties to share information about proposed MARL/Valley Link rail lines and the interconnected effects for Jefferson County residents as the Public Service Commission considers those projects. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Mike Mood and approved unanimously.
The motion authorizes county representation at regional coordination meetings; minutes record the commission’s intent to monitor shared impacts but do not include additional staff direction or funding for participation.
