Jefferson County Commission approves accounts payable batches, payroll and FY26 budget resolutions

Commissioner Pasha Majdi moved to approve accounts payable for Aug. 14, 2025 totaling $529,135.40 and for Aug. 21, 2025 totaling $419,735.17; both motions were approved without objection.
The commission also approved manual checks for Aug. 14 totaling $271,228.98 and for Aug. 21 totaling $70,478.70, payroll for Aug. 15 in the amount of $510,245.52 and requisitions dated Aug. 21 totaling $60,039.92. The manual-check listings included payments to a range of vendors and intergovernmental funds; notable line items recorded in the minutes include a $138,229.96 payment to U.S. Bank and $46,048.52 to Potomac Edison.
Chief Financial Officer David Bound moved to approve reimbursement to the Parks and Recreation Commission for $95,881.71, and the commission approved FY26 budget resolutions as presented. The commission also approved an engagement letter for CHY (listed in the minutes as “CoxHollida Young CPA’s”) to compile the county’s financial statements at a cost not to exceed $34,000.
All the financial motions were approved without objection. The actions authorize county staff to process the listed payments and to proceed with the CHY compilation engagement; no further details about contract terms or a public bidding process for the engagement are recorded in the minutes.
The meeting later convened an executive session for legal advice and adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
