The sitting presiding officer opened nominations and nominated Bertha Flores for president; after Flores accepted the nomination the board approved the appointment without opposition. The board then nominated and approved Israel Fuentes, the district's current clerk, as vice president, and Frank Ibarra as clerk for 2026. All motions were moved and seconded on the record and carried by voice vote.
Board members also approved the district's 2026 meeting calendar as presented and selected 5:30 p.m. as the regular meeting start time. The meeting packet listed three time options; the board retained the traditional 5:30 p.m. slot.
The presiding officer handed the gavel to the newly elected president, who thanked colleagues for the trust and said she looked forward to serving the district in the coming year.
The reorganizational items were procedural and carried by the recorded votes on the consent and appointment motions. The board also agreed to add a closed-session agenda amendment earlier in the meeting to consider appointment and volunteer matters.
