Board members updated the public that the district's superintendent search is concluding and sketched next steps for onboarding and board cohesion.
"We are concluding the search process for our new superintendent. All the interviews have been done, and we are proceeding to the next step," a board member said, noting the many special meetings held during the process.
Members discussed preparing a single set of talking points for back-to-school nights so that trustees present a consistent message to families. A board member proposed a small committee and suggested using email to compile talking points to avoid a quorum problem. Another member suggested a leadership summit or short retreat to capture institutional knowledge and to prepare for onboarding the incoming superintendent.
The president said the board will solicit volunteers for a small working group to draft messaging; the board also plans to schedule training to meet New Jersey School Boards Association master board certification requirements.
No formal action was taken; members said they would follow up by email and return proposals at future meetings.
