Dixon schools recognize Young Authors, students and teachers of the month

The board recognized Young Authors, named Reagan Middle School students Fiona Kelly and Keifer Huynh as October Students of the Month, and heard a list of October teachers of the month announced by DEA Co-President Kim Bork.
During the Oct. 15 meeting Mr. Joey Sagel recognized several Young Authors from the 2024–2025 school year. Reagan Middle School Principal Matt Magnafici announced October Students of the Month—Fiona Kelly and Keifer Huynh—and the two students provided a video for the Board.
Mrs. Kim Bork, DEA Co-President, announced the October teachers of the month and read a list that included Mackenzie Shipman, Candace Buikeman, Lisa Hoyle, Addie Pace, Alecia Weigle, Eric Ferguson (listed twice in the record), Reni Metzler (listed three times in the record), Candace Lind, Amanda Sawyer, Lynn Longan, Brigitte Becker and Catie Cox. The Board acknowledged the recognitions during the meeting's presentation portion.
Separately, Jefferson School principal Crystal Thorpe noted the school's Second Annual Fall Carnival scheduled for Oct. 24 from 5–6 p.m.; Mrs. Margo Empen will represent the Board at Washington School's Trunk or Treat on Oct. 29.
