Commissioners award bridge contracts, forward road and security camera appropriations, and approve highway personnel promotions

He also requested authority to sign the INDOT-LPA contract for 2026–2029 bridge inspections via DocuSign; the commissioners approved that request 3-0.
The commission reviewed bid summaries and approved awarding the bridge #37 and bridge #75 project to the lowest bidder, E&B Paving, and awarding the bridge #43 project to the lowest bidder, C&R Construction; both awards passed 3-0. Russel presented plan cover sheets for final tracings on Corydon Ramsey Road, Pacer Drive and Hospital Drive and noted that the bid letting is scheduled for July 8, 2026; Commissioners approved signing the cover sheet.
Russel also requested an additional appropriation of $34,327.44 from the motor vehicle highway fund for security cameras; the commissioners forwarded the request to the county council 3-0. Commissioner Brad Wiseman moved to approve promotions of Larry Lynch and Eric Bates from highway crewman to large equipment operator effective Feb. 8, 2026; both motions carried 3-0.
The meeting record includes a flagged claim to INDOT for $74,686 to be paid once funding is in place; the commissioners approved that flagged claim earlier in the meeting. Contract values for awarded bridge projects were recorded in the bid summaries reviewed by the commission and the motion language awarded contracts to the lowest bidders as listed, but the meeting minutes do not reproduce the low-bid dollar amounts in full text.
