Tri-County School Board says investigation found no evidence of abuse in volleyball matter, announces code‑of‑conduct changes

The Tri‑County School Board read a prepared statement at its April meeting addressing social‑media discussion about the volleyball program and personnel decisions. The statement said the decision that the former volleyball coach would not return was made on 11/03/2025 and the board has repeatedly upheld that decision.

The statement, read on behalf of the board, said the district has “collaborated fully with all law enforcement agencies throughout this process” and worked closely with the Department of Child Services after a parent‑initiated review. "All law enforcement agencies and the Department of Child Services have found no laws or broken, no evidence of abuse, and no findings," the board said in the statement. The board also said it has identified opportunities to improve internal procedures.

The statement said the board has strengthened its existing code of conduct for coaches (now in place for spring athletics) and improved hiring and ongoing practices to better support staff and students. It also explained the boardrole—setting policy and governance—while noting day‑to‑day operations are handled by the superintendent and administrative team.

Board members asked the community to remain respectful and directed members of the public to contact Mr. Culp to schedule meetings about the volleyball program or related concerns. The statement said the board will attempt to be as transparent as possible while complying with confidentiality requirements in personnel matters.
