Carroll County approves transit grants, ordinance and senior services contract for FY2027

At its March 19 meeting, the Carroll County Board approved several items to support public transportation for FY2027: a resolution authorizing execution of Section 5311 Federal and DOAP-State grant documents, a Public Transportation Applicant ordinance/resolution, and an annual service contract naming Carroll County Senior Services Organization as the operator for FY2027.
PCOM Mary Maszk presented the grant resolution and related materials. The board voted to approve the resolution on a motion by Susan Jacobs, seconded by Jason Beyers, but reached consensus that Chair Julie Bickelhaupt will not sign the Certifications and Assurances paperwork until the form is corrected to read FY2027 rather than FY2025.
The board also approved the Public Transportation Applicant ordinance (motion recorded as by Susan Jacobs, seconded by David Soldat) and the annual service contract with Carroll County Senior Services (motion by Susan Jacobs, seconded by Judy Fitzpatrick). During discussion on the service contract, Board Member Christopher Flikkema asked what changes had been made; PCOM Mary Maszk pointed to revised grant amounts on page five and County Administrator Jachnicki said page six adds a bookkeeping salary and that the county requested monthly bookkeeping/audits rather than yearly.
Roll-call votes were recorded as unanimous among the eight members present for these items. The minutes show a consensus around correcting the grant paperwork before the chair signs the Certifications and Assurances.
