District reports 91.5% "clear" teaching assignments on new CDE TAMO data; board urges data review

Dr. Wildy said the district’s TAMO report shows 91.5% clear teaching assignments, a slight increase from prior years, and noted the first year of the system reported 89.6%. He told the board that differences in reporting — including missing CLAD certificates on some teachers, course coding for CTE classes, and teachers assigned to sections outside their credential — are likely driving the discrepancy between internal district counts and the TAMO results.
Board members asked procedural questions about how TAMO counts are generated. Speaker 2 asked whether TAMO counts teachers as individuals or counts assignments by section; Dr. Wildy clarified TAMO looks at each assignment/section and that the district must dig into combined reports (CALPADS and CALSAAS) to ensure accurate data imports. The presenter said staff expect to improve the percentage next year once data imports and coding are corrected.
