On finances, Holt said staff will reconcile figures and draw down remaining funds from the governor's office of economic development (GoED). She flagged that the current report shows 151% usage for a grant line because the drawdown has not yet been recorded: "That's because we haven't drawn down the amount the entire amount for the grant," she said, and staff will true up those figures once the drawdown posts.
Holt also reported on Capital City Reads: the board's selection this year is the novel The Music of Bees; about 60 of 300 copies remained six days into the program. She described related book‑club discussions and outreach events funded by the Friends of the Library and said staff will consider buying more copies if demand continues.
On planning, Holt said staff completed a training day and that a consultant (Dr. Seidman) and his assistant (Anya) are finalizing the first draft of the library's strategic plan; she said the draft will be followed by a condensed, public-friendly pamphlet and online materials once the technical report is complete.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about posting timelines, the screening process and how objectives from prior evaluations would be handled; Holt said trustees would receive materials in advance and have time to review them prior to discussion at the evaluation meeting.
The board took no formal vote on staffing or programming items during the meeting; the session ended after a public-comment invitation produced no speakers and the chair adjourned.
