Supervisor Schutte moved to reappoint Kurt Meyer to a four-year term beginning January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2029; the board approved that motion unanimously. After discussion, the board selected Jana and Jim Fazer for the two remaining openings and moved to appoint them to four-year terms beginning January 1, 2026; that motion passed unanimously.
Applicants repeatedly framed their interest as community service. Buddy Ray told the board, "Carson City is a treasure and the parks are a gift," while Jim Fazer said expanding youth programs and better coordinating field schedules for Little League were priorities.
Next steps: the appointees will be seated on the Parks and Recreation Commission on January 1, 2026 for four-year terms. The board also thanked all applicants for volunteering.
