Abe Layden, who said he is chairman of the Metro Area County Commissioners and a Douglas County commissioner, used public comment time to thank Denver council members for leadership and regional cooperation on emergency services, winter sheltering and other partnerships.
Layden said the Metro Area County Commissioners represent approximately 3.1 million residents and noted collaboration between counties and Denver on services for vulnerable populations. He offered a letter of commendation and asked if he could present it to the council.
The moderator acknowledged the offer and the comment period moved to subsequent speakers.
