Denver council adopts proclamations recognizing Arts Education Month and Public Health Week

Denver City Council on March 31 adopted two proclamations honoring arts education and public health. Proclamation 26‑0433 declared March as Arts Education Month and highlighted Denver Arts & Venues’ Denver Creates cultural plan; Gretchen Haller, executive director of Arts & Venues, described partnerships that reach students and families and the agency’s public‑art programs.
The council also adopted Proclamation 26‑0421 recognizing National Public Health Week (April 6–12). Karen McGowan (who identified herself as a director) accepted the proclamation on behalf of the public‑health agency and summarized local prevention work, immunization and investigation efforts, animal protection, and overdose‑prevention programs.
Both proclamations passed by voice vote during the meeting; the council noted the proclamations will be transmitted to named agency directors.
