The St. Peter City Council approved recommendations to accept bids for the remaining subcontractor divisions in bid package 2 for the new city hall project, authorizing awards so those portions of construction can move forward.
City staff and the construction manager, RW Carlstrom, reported the rebid (opened Feb. 5) covered items that were previously rejected for administrative reasons and that the recommended bidders for fluid-applied flooring, high-performance coating, signage (Indigo Signs), first-responder lockers, metal evidence lockers and window shades fall within the anticipated project budget.
After hearing the recommendation and with no further council questions, members moved and approved a resolution to accept the specified bidders so work on those divisions can proceed.
Staff said these awards are intended to allow the project schedule to continue and that budget conformity was checked by the construction manager.
