Rocky Ridge water update: Well #3 A/C fixed; misdelivered sand to be repurposed; solar and hydropower options deemed infeasible

At the Jan. 21 Rocky Ridge Town Council meeting, town staff provided an update on water operations that included equipment repairs and options reviewed for long-term power.
The air conditioning unit at Well #3 has been replaced and is operational, a staff update said. An incorrectly sized delivery of silica sand cannot be returned to the supplier and will be repurposed for recreational use. The council and staff reviewed potential use of solar power for water pumps; estimated costs and infrastructure needs made solar infeasible at this time. Hydropower alternatives were also assessed and rejected due to insufficient pressure and volume at local sites. Council noted that long-term water planning remains under consideration.
No formal decisions or funding allocations on alternative power sources were made at the meeting.
