Clackamas County’s economic development office presented a business-spotlight for Stumptown Coffee, highlighting a 2024 capital grant of $100,000 that supported conversion of a Milwaukee warehouse into a cold-brew manufacturing facility.
Laura Edmonds, the county’s economic development manager, and Katrina Benton, Stumptown’s cold-brew operations manager, described the facility upgrade and said the move increased cold-brew capacity fourfold, allowed consolidation of multiple production locations and enabled hiring of operations and maintenance staff. Stumptown representatives reported they brew roughly 1,300 pounds of coffee per day at the facility and can pack about 13,000–14,000 cans per day.
Commissioners asked about the company’s footprint and cost differences between Multnomah and Clackamas operations. Stumptown said combining logistics and distribution produced cost savings and noted the company’s broader presence in cafes and on Alaska Airlines. Commissioners praised the company for choosing Clackamas County and offered continued county support for future expansions.
The presentation was informational; the county staff said the video series is funded through a combination of lottery funds administered by the Office of Economic Development and county general funds for public‑affairs support. Stumptown thanked county staff for responsive coordination with the city of Milwaukee and said the company welcomed ongoing partnership as it scales production.
