The Garfield County Board of Commissioners opened its Feb. 27 regular session at 9:00 a.m. in Jordan and approved the agenda as posted 48 hours earlier after a motion by Commissioner Jerry Collins and a second from Chair Kelly Witt; the motion carried.
During the meeting the board reviewed and signed payroll and claims. Clerk Kerri Gipson reported that electronic payroll (checks #79825 through #79769) totaled $150,364.46 and non-electronic payroll (checks #26675 through #26703) totaled $165,495.94. The board also approved claim checks #48159 through #48286 totaling $379,981.28. The check registers and itemized vendor lists were made part of the meeting record.
Ray Hageman, speaking during public comment as a representative of the volunteer fire department, urged the county to expedite payment on a department credit card so "trucks can be sent out for fires." The commissioners did not announce an immediate administrative action at the meeting in response.
The board recessed for lunch at noon, reconvened at 1:00 p.m., and adjourned at 4:30 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
