The chair also said Miller will share in employee contributions for health benefits per the contract.
Trustees moved and seconded the resolution and contract, and the board approved both measures on voice votes.
Shane Miller addressed the board after the vote and framed his priorities. "I don't come here with any directors, any principals, any assistant principals, parents. I wanna build trust with each of you," Miller said, adding that he intends to be "a community person" and to focus on actions rather than words.
