Oscoda County authorizes EDC to hire Christine Southwell as director and recommends new board member

Oscoda County commissioners authorized the Economic Development Corporation to enter a partnership contract with Northeast Michigan Consortium (dba Michigan Works) to hire Christine Southwell as EDC Director, with a start date of March 1, 2025; compensation will be paid from the EDC contracted services budget line (motion 2025-070).
Separately, the board accepted a letter of interest and recommended the chair appoint DeAnna Marshall to the Oscoda County Economic Development Corporation & Brownfield Board for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2029, per the Economic Development Corporations Act (motion 2025-071). Both motions passed unanimously.
