The El Monte City School District Board of Education approved its consent agenda and a series of action items during its February meeting.
The board approved the minutes from its Jan. 20, 2026 meeting and then approved the action and consent agenda without any items pulled; the chair announced the motion carried 4-0. The board appointed Amy Johnson as director of fiscal services; the candidate was not present but administrators noted she brings more than 20 years of experience, including classroom work.
The board also adopted five proclamations for the 2025-26 school year recognizing March 2026 as Arts Education Month; March 31, 2026 as Cesar Chavez Day; March 20, 2026 as International Day; March 2, 2026 as Read Across America Day; and March 2026 as Women—s History Month. Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved on voice votes that carried 4-0.
These consent and action votes were routine agenda items; no recorded opposition was noted in the public transcript.
