Lisette Mendez Garcia elected board president as trustees complete annual reorganization

Mr. Peralta was nominated and accepted the post of vice president, and Mrs. Cobian was approved as clerk. The board also selected Mr. Seegrest as its representative to the Los Angeles County School Trustee Association and adopted the 2026 meeting schedule.
The reorganization followed the district’s established nomination procedure: nominations were made from the floor, nominees accepted, and members voted. Board president Lisette Mendez Garcia announced the new leadership and thanked outgoing President Beth Rivas for two years of service.
Board members who spoke during the reorganization emphasized continuity of governance and the need to maintain regular communication between the board president and district leadership. The board approved the meeting calendar for 2026 and certified signatures reflecting the reorganized leadership.
