The Heard County Board of Commissioners voted 3-1 Oct. 15 to continue a public hearing on a special-use application from Viridi RE Development LLC for a proposed solar farm until the board’s Nov. 19, 2024 meeting.
Chairman Lee Boone said the continuation follows a formal request from the applicant's attorney, Ellen Smith, who will be out of the country. The motion to continue was made by Commissioner James Perry and seconded by Commissioner David Walls; Commissioner Larry Hammond voted against the motion. The continuing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
The item remains on the board’s agenda as old business for next month; no substantive testimony or final action on the solar proposal was taken at the Oct. 15 meeting.
