Maywood board directs staff to draft potential cannabis plan, schedule community town hall

Attorney Jurusik and staff were asked to draft a potential ordinance and to return to the board with options that include the community engagement process and the choice to opt in.
The vote creates a staff-driven drafting process rather than immediate local legislation; board members did not adopt a final regulatory or tax structure at the meeting. The board did not set a timetable for returning the proposed ordinance to the trustees or specify revenue-sharing, zoning, licensing, or local tax rates—those details were left to staff and the planned public forum.
