Board approves consent agenda, adopts 2027-28 calendar and authorizes superintendent pay addendum

The board then considered the proposed 2027-28 district calendar presented by Mr. Nicholson (speaker 16). The calendar included a resolution to move the Lincoln Day celebration to Feb. 25, 2028; trustees voted to waive a second reading and adopt the resolution unanimously.
Later, the board approved the district's first interim fiscal recommendations (see budget article) and then considered a thirteenth addendum to superintendent Alan Peterson's employment agreement. The addendum, presented by the board president, provides a 3% step increase to the superintendent's base salary contingent on a satisfactory performance evaluation, effective July 1, 2026; the new base salary will be $320,264. The motion passed unanimously.
