Huntington Municipal Building Authority approves adjusted FY2025 budget and sets FY2026 budget

The Huntington Municipal Building Authority on June 18 unanimously approved an adjustment to its fiscal-year 2025 budget and set the fiscal-year 2026 budget following a brief public hearing.

Treasurer Ronni Torre explained the change before the authority: "the adjustment is to increase revenue and expenses on the Municipal Building Authority from $41,830.00 to $46,230.00. Setting the revenue and expense budget for 2026 at $43,410.00," she said. There were no public comments during the hearing.

Council Member Gloria Wilson moved to approve the meeting minutes for June 18, 2025; Council Member Lesa Miller seconded. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with Council Members Gloria Wilson, Judd Beagley, Devin Wilson, Lesa Miller and Tom Kay voting Aye.

The authority then voted on two resolutions. Council Member Judd Beagley moved to approve Resolution 7-2025, which the record shows "states that the MBA 2025 FY budget is approved in the amount of $46,230.00;" Council Member Tom Kay seconded. The roll-call vote was unanimous: Gloria Wilson — Aye; Judd Beagley — Aye; Devin Wilson — Aye; Lesa Miller — Aye; Tom Kay — Aye. The motion carried.

Council Member Tom Kay moved to approve Resolution 8-2025 to set the MBA FY2026 budget at $43,410.00; Council Member Devin Wilson seconded. That motion also passed on a unanimous roll-call vote with the same five council members recorded as voting Aye.

Mayor Leonard Norton presided over the meeting, which began at 7:45 p.m. and adjourned at 7:49 p.m. Brandy Wagner, Huntington City Recorder, signed the meeting record.

The actions taken adjust the small, enterprise-level Municipal Building Authority budgets for the coming year and close the authority's budget-setting process for these line items; no further direction or follow-up tasks were recorded in the meeting minutes.
