Supervisor Town moved to advance the request to the full Board; the motion was seconded and passed. During discussion, county staff and the committee noted that appropriations and the ultimate fate of WIOA funding depend on the federal appropriations process and midterm elections. John Assini of CJ Lake told the committee that specific outcomes will likely hinge on whether Republicans control both chambers after the midterms and on continuing resolutions required to reach the September 30 appropriations deadline.
