Staff reported that communications preferred a higher‑resolution contemporary photo for the poster but the board debated whether the poster should show a building as it appears today or a historic image. Several members favored a side‑by‑side approach (sepia historic photo alongside a current photo) so viewers see both the historic context and the present condition.
Board members also recommended adding a QR code to the poster and associated yard signs to provide extended history, event details and links to resources — an approach staff said would be straightforward to produce. Brad Boland said staff will update artwork and make a postcard/poster and yard‑sign package and circulate drafts to the board.
The board also discussed inviting a representative from History Colorado to present on state historic tax credit programs at the May meeting; the tax credits discussed at the conference include up to 20% for residential projects and up to 35% for business projects, with stipulations and review requirements.
The board asked staff to coordinate a possible walk‑in historic site tour on May 30 and to coordinate outreach with the spring kickoff concert and other events. Staff said they will circulate draft posters, QR codes and potential presenter availability by email ahead of the May meeting.
