The Castle Rock Town Council on Feb. 1 unanimously approved a slate of routine and substantive items, voting 6–0 on several motions and adopting two ordinances and two resolutions.
The council voted to extend the town’s decorative star display from July 4 through Colorado Day (Aug. 1). Councilmember Bracken’s motion to restore the 'daddy-daughter' dance name and to add a separate 'mother-son' event also passed by roll call.
On appointments and routine business, the council appointed Nicholas Moore to the Board of Adjustment for a partial term ending May 31, 2027, and approved the consent calendar which included an amendment to the Dawson Trails development ordinance, engagement of Bailey LLP for the FY2025 audit, and a settlement agreement for the Craig and Gould North infrastructure improvements project.
Council approved two ordinances on second and final reading: amendments to boards-and-commissions membership, absence, term-limit and remote-attendance rules, and code cleanups clarifying Planning Commission’s advisory role in comprehensive-plan matters. The council also adopted a resolution to approve an amended and restated intergovernmental water-service agreement with Dominion Water and Sanitation District and a resolution to contract with Burns & McDonnell for an arc-flash safety assessment across the town’s major electrical equipment; staff said a first-quarter budget amendment will be needed for that contract.
All presented motions and resolutions listed on the agenda were approved by unanimous roll-call votes unless otherwise noted.
