Surveyor Chad Wagner outlines plan to finish section-corner perpetuation in Township 5 South, Range 9 West

Chad Wagner, a surveyor who identified himself to the board, presented a proposal to complete section-corner perpetuation in the northern portion of Township 5 South, Range 9 West.

“This particular portion is the northernmost portion of, Township 5 South, Range 9 West…so it's about it's about 6 miles, in in the East West direction, and then we're in the last section, which is just 1 mile north south,” Wagner said, describing the area the contract would cover. He told the board the work would “completely fill out and finish the perpetuation” for that township and range, marking the fourth contract continuing work begun in 2003 and resumed in 2020.

Board members discussed the geographic limits of the proposal (the eastern portion bound by Wirebacher Road to the county line on the west) and sequencing for the remainder of the range. The board confirmed signature and dating procedures to tie the contract to the meeting record; the presiding official was authorized to sign so the document could be dated to today’s meeting.

The board moved to approve the proposal and recorded an affirmative voice vote. Wagner said the office will submit the remaining paperwork and bring any additional portions of the work back to the board if time allows this year.
