Whittier honors two long‑time city employees with proclamations

The Whittier City Council opened its Jan. 13 session by honoring two longtime city employees with proclamations and presentations.
Mayor Joe Vinatieri read proclamations recognizing Peimani Magsutti for nearly 25 years of service at the Whittier Public Library and Trina Miller for more than 38 years of service in the city manager’s office. Peimani was credited for leadership in two major library expansion projects and for work with statewide library organizations. Trina was recognized for emergency services work following the 1987 Whittier earthquake and for decades of institutional knowledge supporting the city manager and council.
Colleagues and visiting officials joined the dais. Kyle Miller, representing State Senator Bob Archuleta's office, presented a certificate to Peimani and praised her professionalism; a representative of County Supervisor Janice Hahn presented county plaques to both honorees. Members of the Habitat Authority also offered recognition.
Both employees thanked colleagues and said they appreciated the community’s support. The council posed for photos and presented gifts and tokens of appreciation.
The presentations were ceremonial; no council action beyond the proclamations was required.
