The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Trustees approved the district’s 2025-26 tentative budget and a set of contracts, donations and policy updates during its Aug. 19 regular meeting at the District Administrative Center.
The board voted to adopt the tentative budget as presented by Assistant Superintendent for Business Dr. Ilandus Hampton. Dr. Hampton said the budget will be available for public inspection for a minimum of 30 days and that the final budget will be approved by Sept. 30, 2025.
Trustees also approved a renewal agreement with Hanover Research and an agreement with Professional’s Choice Hair Design Academy. The board accepted presented donations. All three motions carried on roll-call votes with no recorded opposing votes.
On records governance, the board approved a motion to destroy certain verbatim closed-session recordings and to change the closed-session minutes and recordings covering specified earlier periods; that motion passed unanimously.
The board completed a set of second readings and updates to district policies intended to ensure compliance with Illinois State Board of Education requirements, including policies on attendance and truancy, governance and several operational and personnel procedures. The motions to adopt the reviewed and updated policies passed unanimously.
