Contract change announced for jail medical services; new provider introduced to board

Dr. Ofogh described his 30 years of correctional health experience, said his organization currently operates in seven states, and emphasized a commitment to high standards of care for incarcerated patients. He invited supervisors and staff to ask questions and offered to remain after the meeting to meet individually.
Supervisors thanked the sheriff for the introduction; no formal action was taken during the comment period. The county did not provide contract terms, cost comparisons, or an itemized service transition plan on the record during the meeting; Dr. Ofogh said he would answer questions from supervisors and staff as needed.
