The Chula Vista City Council met in closed session on March 17 to consider public-employee appointments and afterward publicly ratified several executive-level appointments.
City Attorney reported the council voted in closed session to ratify: Sarah Shane as Deputy City Manager; Helica Aguilar (reported in the record as Angelica/Helica) as Director of Public Works; and Adrian Del Rio as Director of Finance. The council also unanimously ratified the appointment of Roy Sapau as Deputy City Manager/Director of Development Services, effective when the council adopts the corresponding title.
The city attorney said the votes were unanimous (5-0). The council then adjourned the March 17 meeting and scheduled the next regular session for April 14 at 5:00 p.m.
The appointments take effect in accordance with city personnel rules and any required administrative steps; the city attorney said the council will likely report out any additional closed-session action at the earliest opportunity.
