Summary
Trustees approved a $4,000 donation from the Aransas Pass Crime Control and Prevention Board for a crosswalk program and $2,000 from Bechtel Welding for the high school welding program, then adopted Budget Amendment No. 4 to record the $6,000 in the district budget.
The board approved two monetary donations and a related budget amendment.
Superintendent Bennett described a $4,000 donation from the Aransas Pass Crime Control and Prevention Board to support a crossing guard and supplies at the crossing from Windy Shores apartments to Charlie Marshall Elementary. "This is a donation made to us by the crime board to help us facilitate a crossing guard, for the personnel and for supplies that is long needed here at this crossing," Bennett said. Trustees disclosed that the crime-board president is a trustee (Terry Stansbury) and confirmed transparency before voting.
The board then approved a $2,000 donation from Bechtel Welding and Applied Technology Center to the Aransas Pass High School welding program to support students as they prepare for state competition. Trustees moved and approved both donations.
Following the donations, Miss Moreno presented Budget Amendment No. 4 to record a $6,000 increase across the appropriate budget codes reflecting the two donations; trustees approved the amendment. The board did not provide a roll-call tally; each motion was carried by voice vote.
