Milpitas Unified announces $1.3M bus retrofit grant, seeks major funding for CTE and microelectronics node

The Presenter also described a larger, in-progress application: a $15,000,000 proposal led by Antonio Fuentes, coordinator at Milpitas Adult Ed, to make the program a regional node for a national microelectronics education network sponsored by the Semai Foundation. The Presenter described that opportunity as ongoing work rather than a completed award.
On presentation tools, the Presenter noted the district is now using Google’s Gemini AI in its Google suite and used it to create one image in the presentation.
No formal board votes or contract awards were taken during the remarks; district officials framed these items as grants and proposals that will proceed through established application and implementation steps.
