OJUSD board approves arts-education resolution, acquires modular classroom and updates visitor and safety policies

At its regular meeting the Oakdale Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees approved several action items by unanimous vote.
Resolution 25 26 0 9 recognizing March as Arts Education Month was moved and seconded and approved by roll call, with trustees recording 'Aye' for each name called. District staff framed the resolution as recognition of the district’s arts pipeline from elementary music through high-school electives and joint choir/band activities.
The board also authorized purchase (resolution 25 26 0 7) of a state-architect-approved modular classroom building from the Stanislaus County Office of Education for $1. Staff said the modular building is surplus property sold "as is" with no expressed or implied warranties and recommended board approval.
Trustees approved revisions to BP/AR 1250 (Visitors/Outsiders), AR 3515.2 (Disruptions), and BP/AR 3515.5 (sex-offender notification), which staff described as strengthening visitor registration, campus-security procedures, guidance on registered offenders on campus, and clarifying digital-device expectations in classrooms. Staff reported no fiscal impact for these policy revisions.
Finally, the board adopted the proposed 2026–27 board-meeting calendar, proposing regular meetings on the second Monday of each month and allowing for special meetings as needed. All motions carried unanimously.
