At the Feb. 5 strategic‑plan workshop, two members of the public pressed the council on community access and neighborhood blight. Reggie Mundicus told the council the city should move from an English‑only approach to offering services and signage in Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese to better serve residents and attract business. "When a group is welcome, their money follows," Mundicus said, arguing multilingual outreach would boost prosperity.
Amy Lossi, who lives behind the Orange Mall, said the meeting time (Thursday at 4 p.m.) prevented broader participation and urged the council to improve communications with her neighborhood. She criticized perceived inaction on visible blight behind the mall and said residents want clearer outreach from their representatives. "I drive by that blight every day," Lossi said, asking council members to show more visible support in the neighborhood.
Council members and staff thanked the commenters and noted those topics would inform the workshop discussion; staff also noted follow-up items would be captured and addressed as priorities are refined.
