Planning Commission elects Nelson chair and Bastian vice chair

The Rancho Santa Margarita Planning Commission elected Nelson as chair and Bastian as vice chair during its Feb. 4 meeting.
The reorganization took place early in the meeting when Commissioner Bastian nominated Commissioner Nelson for chair. After a second, the commission approved the nomination by voice vote. Nelson said, “Thank you, everyone. I appreciate it. It's an honor. Thanks for the vote of confidence.”
Later the commission took nominations for vice chair. Nelson nominated Commissioner Josh Bashan, and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Chair Nelson and other commissioners offered congratulations to the newly elected leadership.
The changes take effect immediately for commission business; no other formal actions were attached to the reorganization.
The commission recessed briefly and then resumed the evening’s agenda.
