Speaker 7 explained the arrangement is similar to the district’s existing career partnerships, but transportation to Linton Beauty College will not be provided. "They will graduate with a certification in their selected field," a district representative said, and summer hours can be part of the clinical requirement to reach the total required hours for licensure.
Board members asked whether the program would count toward state employment initiatives. Staff said students would earn certification and that related hours could be applied toward employment-plus credits where applicable.
The motion to approve the agreement passed unanimously (vote recorded 6-0). Administrators said the program currently has small interest but could expand if demand increases and that the district would follow up on specifics about clinical-hour requirements and how summer sessions factor into eligibility.
