Mission Viejo recognizes city, OCFA and sheriff employees and proclaims American Heart Month

At the Feb. 10 meeting the Mission Viejo City Council recognized several public‑safety and city employees as 2025 Employees of the Year and proclaimed February as American Heart Month.
City Manager Elaine Lister introduced Stephanie D'Alamita as the city's 2025 employee of the year, citing her veterinary and investigative work in animal services and her role in evidence submitted to the district attorney for cruelty charges. Brynn LaVestan, director of animal services, explained D'Alamita’s progression from veterinary care technician to overseeing investigative officers.
The Orange County Fire Authority recognized Fire Apparatus Engineer and Paramedic Max Harder as the city's 2025 OCFA employee of the year; Battalion Chief Lee Cabrera praised Harder’s leadership and work integrating drone and thermal imaging technology into response operations. Harder thanked colleagues and highlighted the UAV program’s community benefits, including locating a bobcat near Fire Station 31.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department presented Deputy Cameron Mosher as Mission Viejo Police Services Employee of the Year; Jason Ivins outlined Mosher’s work with youth explorer programs, the honor guard, drug recognition expertise, and major collision investigations. Mosher thanked the city and his family.
The council also proclaimed February American Heart Month, highlighted local CPR and AED training resources, and promoted the OsoFit Community Health Fair and 5K on Feb. 28, which will offer health screenings and community wellness resources.
