Board approves Academic and Career Planning plan aimed at K–12 career and college readiness

The Maple School District board approved its annual Academic and Career Planning (ACP) plan on April 13, endorsing K–12 guidance activities aimed at preparing students for college and careers.
Administrator Mister Fetchell Connor described the ACP plan as a K–12 initiative that "lists the work a lot of our guidance offices are doing to help our students become, ultimately career and or college ready." Miss Langhar, who the administration identified as guidance staff and who joined the meeting to discuss the plan, outlined goals and cited a recently approved human services course that has already filled.
Board members praised the plan and urged ongoing assessment of its effectiveness. One member suggested leveraging student feedback and benchmarking other districts as part of annual review. The board moved to approve the ACP plan, the motion was seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote.
Administration said the ACP is an annual process and that progress and adjustments will be presented in future meetings.
