Saginaw County commissioners unanimously amend job titles and authorize a new staff accountant position

Following a closed executive session on personnel matters at the March 3 special meeting, the Saginaw County Commissioners returned to open session and approved a set of personnel actions.
Chair (speaker 3) moved to amend Jill Flaherty’s job title to administrator/finance director and to change Jessica Gray’s title to deputy administrator/human resource director. The motion also authorized creation of a staff accountant position with a job description to be drafted and considered at the next meeting. A commissioner seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously in favor; the Chair said the vote was unanimous.
Earlier, the board had moved into executive session “pursuant to title 1 section 405(c)(1) on personnel issues,” the Chair stated on the record. No formal details on the personnel matters discussed in executive session were disclosed at the meeting beyond the actions taken after the session.
Commissioners indicated they may take up the detailed job description for the new staff accountant at the next meeting and that other administrative clarifications will be handled in future agenda items.
