Summary
Commissioners approved updated exterior design for a remodel at 1202 Michigan Avenue after architect Scott Matula explained clarifications to siding, window treatments and northern elevation details; commissioners said the updated drawings made intent clear.
The Sheboygan City Plan Commission approved an exterior remodel for 1202 Michigan Avenue after the applicant returned with updated renderings addressing previous questions about siding and window treatments.
Planning staff noted the design had been reviewed at prior commission meetings and that the applicant had provided updated materials requested earlier. Scott Matula of Aspire Architecture and Design told commissioners the siding base shown in earlier renderings was a display artifact and explained that existing windows on the second floor would remain, with first-floor windows getting a darker treatment; he also said some northern-elevation concrete block will be painted to blend with new dark siding.
A commissioner praised the revised drawings as “much easier to tell what’s planned,” and the commission moved to approve the architecture review. The applicant was thanked and told to coordinate with staff as necessary for building permits and inspections.
The commission’s approval was recorded by voice vote in the meeting transcript.
