After adjourning the regular session on April 7, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors met in a work session where staff reviewed a series of planning items but recorded no binding decisions on intergovernmental agreements.
Keri Van Zante and Chris Herbold discussed the first draft of a 28E Agreement between Jasper County and the Jasper County Conservation Board, presenting the document for board review. The presentation was described in the minutes as an initial draft and was not adopted; no motion was recorded to approve the agreement.
During continued work-session discussion, the board reviewed updates on T-12 parcels and considered a proposed haul-route policy. Engineer Mike Frietsch also outlined a request for an additional accounting clerk position in the Engineer’s office and reviewed planned equipment purchases for FY2027 alongside current FY2026 equipment activity. These items were presented for board consideration; the minutes reflect discussion and review rather than final action.
The board recessed the work session until 11:35 a.m. and later reconvened before adjourning. Next procedural steps—such as further drafting of the 28E agreement, formal adoption of any intergovernmental agreement, or personnel action on the accounting clerk—were not recorded in the minutes and therefore remain pending review and formal motion in a future session.
