The Franklin County Board of Supervisors opened bids and on April 14 adopted a resolution awarding the GAR Memorial Hall roof replacement contract to All Iowa Roofing of Des Moines for a bid amount of $35,250 plus sheeting replacement.
Supervisor McVicker moved and Supervisor Lukensmeyer seconded the motion to approve Resolution 2026-35, which accepts the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project described in the RFP previously approved by the board on March 10, 2026. The resolution directs the chairperson and the auditor to execute the construction contract; the contract is not binding until approved by the board.
The motion carried on a roll-call vote with Supervisors Lukensmeyer and McVicker and Chairman Chris Vanness recorded as ayes and no nays.
Why it matters: the GAR Memorial Hall is a county facility; awarding the contract moves the roof replacement to the construction phase and enables the county to schedule work and related inspections.
The board recessed for drainage business and continued the agenda after reconvening. Additional administrative matters and routine approvals followed the award resolution.
