Beaumont Unified board accepts Jean Haas grant, applies for CSBA awards and approves personnel actions

BEAUMONT, Calif.
At its June 11 meeting, the Beaumont Unified School District Board of Trustees approved a set of routine business items including acceptance of a grant from the Jean Haas Foundation to support students enrolled in machinist-based training or engineering programs, approval of applications for three California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Awards, and multiple memorandums of understanding and personnel assignment orders for the 2024-25 school year.
A trustee highlighted that the Jean Haas grant can be used for tools that help students leave training programs "career ready," a point the trustee called "amazing." The board accepted the grant by unanimous vote.
On awards, the board authorized district staff to submit three Golden Bell Award applications, including an entry for the continuation school.
Trustees also approved memorandums of understanding with the Beaumont Teachers Association covering career technical education teacher positions, a lead theater teacher position and drama stipends; an MOU concerning First Century Learning Institute remote work arrangements for 2024-25; and a Juneteenth agreement with the California School Employees Association (Chapter 351). The board approved certificated, classified and administrative personnel assignment orders dated June 11, 2024. Several trustees thanked HR and principals for their work.
The board welcomed Tiffany Sainz as a new program specialist and Stephanie Jarvis as assistant director for the Child Nutrition Services department; both thanked trustees and district leadership.
What happens next: The district HR and program offices will implement the personnel assignments and MOUs and proceed with grant-related program planning and award submissions.
