Snowville council appoints five to planning and zoning board; subdivision inquiry flagged for formal proposal

The Snowville Town Council voted to accept five nominees to the newly formed planning and zoning board after Councilmember LuAnn Johnson moved and Brandon Garbanati seconded the motion.
Councilmember Mike Morgan presented the names — Carson Morgan, AJ Morgan, Debbie Garbanati, Casey Smoot and Colleen Hansen — and said the nominees had agreed to serve. The motion passed with recorded ayes from council members present.
Separately, members discussed a preliminary inquiry about subdividing a parcel near existing homes. "I think there's about six acres total," Mayor Jim Beagley said after members described the possible sale and subdivision of a property near an established home site. Council members noted the town's R-1/R-2 zoning and general half-acre density expectations; they said new lots would need proper roads, water hookups and septic approvals before any formal application could proceed.
Council agreed that prospective purchasers should present a formal subdivision plan for review rather than seeking an informal pre-approval; Mayor Beagley said staff should consult with the town engineer and health officials about water and septic capacity before the council acts.
